Widgets are great. I once had the wireless signal widget, a chucky doll, a digital clock and a few other random items on my desktop. The widgets have since been removed, but components of my konfabulator software remain...
I have had a quick scan through the yourminis site. Lots of interesting applications that I might try out from home.
